These terms and conditions govern your use of martianinternet.co.uk and the purchase of any products from our shop. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About us
This website is operated by Martian Internet (“we”, “us”, “our”), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.
You can contact us at: Email: support@martianinternet.co.uk
2. The products
We sell graphic fine art prints and clothing inspired by space exploration. Some items are made to order through our print partner. Product images are for illustration; colours may vary slightly depending on your screen, and prints and garments may show minor natural variation.
We take care to describe and price products accurately, but occasional errors may occur. See sections 4 and 5 below for how we handle these.
3. How a contract is formed
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We will send you an email acknowledging that we have received your order — this is not an acceptance of your offer.
A contract between us is formed only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched. If we are unable to fulfil your order — for example, because an item is unavailable or we have identified a pricing error — we will contact you and refund any payment already taken. No contract will exist between us for those items.
4. Pricing
We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged on our products.
Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout before you confirm your order.
Although we try to ensure all prices are accurate, errors can occur. If we discover an error in the price of items you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel the order. If we cannot reach you, we will treat the order as cancelled and refund you in full.
5. Payment
Payment is taken at the time you place your order, through our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). We do not store your full card details.
6. Delivery
We aim to dispatch and deliver within the timescales set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy. Delivery timescales are estimates and not guaranteed.
Risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.
7. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)
If you are a consumer based in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving any reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, contact us at support@martianinternet.co.uk within the 14-day period. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us. The goods must be returned in their original condition. You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or not as described.
We will refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof that you have sent them). We may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the goods.
Full details of how to return an item are set out in our Returns policy.
8. Faulty or misdescribed goods
This does not affect your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
If goods are faulty, damaged on arrival, or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. Please contact us at support@martianinternet.co.uk with your order number and, where possible, a photograph of the issue, and we will put it right.
9. Returns
Our full returns process — including how to return an item and where to send it — is set out in our Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Intellectual property
All artwork, designs, images, text and other content on this website are the property of Martian Internet and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute or commercially exploit any of our designs or content without our prior written permission.
Where our work incorporates imagery from NASA or other public sources, such use adheres to the relevant media usage guidelines, and that imagery remains subject to its original terms.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any matter that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any order will not exceed the total price paid for that order.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
14. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at support@martianinternet.co.uk.
